howdy! my name is yuan:)

from 2025-2027, i’m a master’s candidate in philosophy at the university of Houston on full scholarship and stipends. i work primarily on ethics and political philosophy.

from 2024-2025, i worked at University of michigan museum of art and michigan institute for data & ai in society.

from 2019-2023, i earned a bachelor of arts degree Magna Cum Laude in classics and in philosophy from university of michigan ann arbor, with minors in ancient greek (5 consecutive semesters of training), music, and political theory. I transferred from NortheasterN UNIVERSITY (2018-2019). During the pandemic (2020-2021), i studied chopin, brahms, and beethoven with Arthur greene, among others.

from 2012-2018, I was educated in Shanghai and earned an ib diploma. before that, i was born in Kunming.

currently, i live in Houston with my cat teodor (kudos to the incredible humane society of huron valley). in my free time, i enjoy making music and writing. Check out my youtube channel and blog series aesthetician.
